It was announced yesterday that Sofia has become the winner of Russian national selection with the song “My New Day”. And today the show was broadcast on TV.
All the eleven performances was shown including Sofia’s winning one. She stand alone at the center of the stage and performed in front of the blue background which turned into gold as song progressed.
Sofia has become the second in online voting with 77 points that were 3 points less than the winner Rutger’s 80 points. After the jury voting she left a fan-favorite Rutger behind and got 6 points more in total.
Well-known names from “Eurovision” as Alexander Vorobyev (Russia 2011), Polina Bogusevich (Russia at JESC 2017) and some others was among the juries.
This will be the first time that Russia will not be represented by online voting winner since Academy of Igor Krutoy has started to organize the national selection.
