Iceland is the next country that confirms its participation in the upcoming “Eurovision 2021” song contest.
During the interview of broadcaster RUV’s members to “ESC Today”, they confirmed their participation in the next year’s contest.
It’s not decided yet whether one of the last year’s biggest favorites Dadi og Gagnamagnig will represent the country in 2021 or not.
With the Iceland’s confirmation the number of participating countries at “Eurovision 2021” now is 32. 18 of them have reselected their representatives from 2020 and 14 just confirmed the participation.
Let us remind that Iceland chooses its entry through the national selection “Söngvakeppni” over the years and it mostly seems like they will use this method again.
Also take note that Dadi confirmed that he won’t back to the national selection as he thinks “cancellation of the contest isn’t their fault and all the artists should be reselected”.
