It’s been 10 years that Finland started to use UMK (Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu) as the national selection of the country’s entry for Eurovision Song Contest. This year is not an exception.
National broadcaster YLE has started submission of applications that will end on September, 9 2020.
Other details about the national selection process also were announced.
The names of the finalists will be revealed in December and the live show will take place on February, 20 2021. The final will be held in Tampere Mediapolis TV studio and will be streamed live on Yle TV1 and Yle Areena. At the end of the day the winner will get the right to represent the country in Rotterdam at the “Eurovision 2021”.
Back in 2020 Aksel oughted to represent the country at the “Eurovision 2020” after his winning at “UMK 2020”. Despite this the competition was canceled and Finish broadcaster didn’t give a second chance to Aksel in 2021.
